We are currently recruiting for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Official Injury Claims Portal team in Blackburn. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about the work they do, the service they provide and getting the best results for their clients. As Legal Assistant on the OIC Portal team you will be progressing disputed claims through the Official Injury Claim portal in an accurate and efficient manner. You will be working individually with high attention to detail but also as part of the team. The team is currently broken down between Liability Admitted cases and Liability Disputed cases. On a daily basis you will be dealing with quantum and liability dispute cases, which are unable to be settled at Stage 2 in the OIC Portal. You will be required to either negotiate settlement or failing that, issue proceedings within the OIC Portal for the Court to determine liability or quantum at a final hearing. Responsibilities to include: · General call queries/answering the team loop (Claimant and Third Party) · Reviewing Medical Evidence and valuing Whiplash Injuries · Reviewing Claimant’s Losses and Vehicle Related Losses including Credit Hire · Drafting Liability Witness Statements on behalf of the Claimant · Issuing proceedings through OIC Portal · Attending Conferences with Counsel About You: · Previous experience advantageous · Knowledge of admitted and disputed cases advantageous · Knowledge of computers particularly excel spreadsheets will be necessary · Good organisational skills · An ability to be able to prioritise work · An ability to work to deadlines and the demands of the team · An ability to work in a fast-paced demanding environment

They have an outstanding team of Solicitors who are renowned for their expertise in Personal Injury, Data Breach, Medical Negligence and Immagration. They also deal with very high quality Clinical and Medical Negligence personal injury cases and have grown steadily over the past few years. As a result of their success they are now looking for a Solicitor/Fee Earner with experience of working in a fast paced, cost driven environment. Responsibilities: Managing a caseload of litigated and pre-litigated Clinical Negligence files, both straightforward and complex Conduct relevant investigations in order to repudiate and/or conclude the claim. Undertaking Court Telephone Hearings Timely and accurate maintenance of all case management, billing and management information systems Correspondence and telephone calls Reviewing files Being part of the support for junior staff Personal Specification: Qualified Solicitor or high level experience in Fee Earning. 3+ years PQE in managing a medical/clinical negligence caseload Confident in litigating matters from start to Finish. Excellent customer care skills. Hard working and able to work from own initiative with minimal supervision. Keen Commercial awareness.

A Housing Disrepair file handler is required for an excellent opportunity with a vibrant law firm based in Blackburn. You will be responsible for the receipt of the initial instructions and initial matter creating and associated checks to support risk assessment. Primary Duties Logging Client’s signed Forms of Authority and Completed Questionnaire on the Case Management System Requesting and logging required documentation from the Client DSAR Reviews First port of contact with client Booking and Arranging Client Appointments Preparing a Letter of Claim Preparing Part 36/Calderbanks for both client and defendant All necessary calls and correspondence with the Client and third parties in the initial stages of the Client’s claim. Management of incoming work source email inboxes Attributes & Competencies Required Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact confidently with both staff and members of the public English GCSE (grade 9-1, A-C or Key Skills Level 2 or equivalent) Law degree/graduate Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft applications Proven ability to plan, manage and prioritise workloads Flexible approach to working Working as part of a team and using own initiative Attention to detail Capability to undertake all assignments in a timely manner Knowledge of GDPR and Data Protection Desirable Previous administrative experience including excellent client care skills across different platforms, including telephone, email and written correspondence
