Job Description About the role The Senior Finance Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Director of Finance in all aspects of the work and contribute to the smooth running of the finance operations on a day-to-day basis. What you’ll do… Make sure all financial info is produced accurately and on time, following company standards. Prepare and upload daily revenue figures into the accounting system. Daily VAT reconciliation and investigation. Support Income Audit and Accounts Receivables function. Daily Credit Card Reconciliation. Job Description About the role Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Assistant will support the smooth and efficient running of the finance department. What you’ll do… Check all financial transactions related to revenue and income daily. Make sure revenue records and all transactions are accurate, properly documented and recorded, as per company standards. Spot any discrepancies, errors, or irregularities in financial data and figure out why they happened, and implementing corrective actions. Ensure that revenue reported matches actual income received. Review sales invoices to ensure they're complete, accurate, and follow billing policies. Monitor accounts receivable aging reports to find overdue accounts and follow up with customers for payment. Talk to customers about their payment status, outstanding balances, and payment terms. Build good relationships with customers to help smooth payment processing and resolve issues quickly. Make sure all monies received are posted correctly, recorded and receipted in accordance to company policy. Chase up monies owed to the hotel and minimise the risk of bad debt. Resolve sales ledger queries promptly. Find ways to make accounts receivable processes more efficient. Check commission claims from travel agents for accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements. Validate and process commission requests, including reservation details, rates, and stay dates, using the hotel’s systems. Liaise with travel agencies and agents to address inquiries, resolve disputes, and assist with commission matters. Collaborate with other teams to gather relevant financial information. Actively review standard operating procedures, to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures. Qualifications What we’re looking for… Knowledge of Opera is preferable. Personal Specification: ● At least 5/10 years’ experience in a Trust Company or a Multifamily Office or International Chartered Accountancy. ● Accountancy firm experience. ● Strong technical knowledge in international tax matters, trust, wealth management, and experience within the private client field. ● A wealth of experience as a Manager in an international environment or as a solicitor/accountant specialised in international tax. ● Fully conversant with profit and loss statements and budgeting. ● Experience in administration services for high net-worth clients, including advanced knowledge and experience with in-house trust accounting. ● Advanced knowledge and understanding of trust transaction coding, fiduciary income tax, principal and income accounting, and interpretation of trust documents. ● Demonstrable high-level understanding of the trust administration business, industry trends, and best practices. ● Excellent knowledge of accounting and VAT. ● Excellent technical and working knowledge of complex Fiduciary Structures. ● Excellent working knowledge of Company and Trust law and statutory and regulatory obligations. ● Ability to consider tax and legal implications of transactions. ● Technical knowledge of statutory filing requirements. ● Fluency in English is essential, fluency in other languages is desirable (French and/or Italian especially).
