Waste Management: Kitchen porters handle the disposal of waste and recycling materials in accordance with established procedures. They empty trash bins regularly, sort recyclables, and ensure proper waste segregation to maintain cleanliness and adhere to environmental regulations. Stocking and Organizing: Kitchen porters assist in the storage and organization of kitchen supplies, such as food ingredients, cleaning supplies, and utensils. They may be responsible for receiving and unpacking deliveries, checking stock levels, and ensuring items are properly stored and labelled. Assisting Chefs: Kitchen porters support the kitchen staff by performing various tasks to help with food preparation. Preparing the food for cooking Keeping up with industry trends and creating new recipes with the Sous Chef Reviewing the menu and doing inventory Following the budget set by the Restaurant Manager Ordering food for the kitchen Monitoring food production and food and staff costs Training staff Managing relationships with distributors and resolving any issues with vendors, promptly Ensuring standard portions and quality of dishes Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen and ensuring sanitation practices in the kitchen
We are looking for a hardworking, personable Kitchen Porter with a good standard of English, able to lift and carry items where required and available to work long hours when needed, primarily to assist in the running of the back of house operations as well as assisting the event team in set up and general light food preparation duties. Responsibilities include: washing of plates, glass, and cutlery Cleaning of kitchen areas waste Management assist in light chef duties assist other back of house porter duties in the moving and set up of events assist with special functions and other areas of service where necessary
