We are a well established backpackers hostel in central London and we are currently looking for our next 'super star; reception team member. If you have a bubbly personality, like to have fun at work and willing to provide great customer service then we would like to hear from you. You will be part of a small and very friendly team. The job is very much 'hands on' and your job tasks will include welcoming guests to the hostel, checking in and checking out of guests, processing payments, attending the laundry room, light cleaning and tidying up duties, security and supervision. We are recruiting for a part time position for two-three shifts a week. Shifts are variable and the pattern is:mornings (8-4) or evenings (4-00) and nights (00-8.00). No previous experience required but foreign languages would be an advantage. We care more about your personality and attitude than about your previous jobs. Supervisor Our Supervisors deliver friendly, efficient customer service and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere to all our customers. As a Supervisor at Beds and Bars you will have the opportunity to supervise, train and motivate others, with the key aim of retaining and attracting new customers. Essential requirements You must: Be eligible or have all necessary documentation in which to be legally employed in the country, which you are based. All Documentation required by any Local/Regional/National certifying or governing bodies in which to operate legally within your units’ country. Have an up to date/active bank account in your own name. Be able to converse Fluently in English. Where live in accommodation is not provided. Have a fixed place of residence and live within a reasonable travelling distance of the unit. Providing a Brilliant Experience for our Customers Always deliver excellent customer service. Deal with customer issues in a professional and helpful manner. Keep up to date with current promotions and new products and inform staff. Make customers aware of offers in our units. Maintaining Controls and Standards Serve and present beverages, quickly and efficiently, meeting our standards and specs. Assist in the opening and closing of the unit. Assist in keeping the unit clean and safe. Always adhere to all company policies and procedures and licensing laws. Maintain accurate stock control, including ordering, delivery checks, line checks and wastage. Leading and Developing People Maintain personal knowledge by completing in-house training and attending course. Always engage with your line manager about your own personal and professional development and how Beds and Bars can assist. As a Night receptionist, your nights will include anything from managing reservations, taking payments, check-in & out guests, handling enquiries and complaints, patrolling and security walks, responding to Guest reviews, to cleaning our social areas and assisting the management team with the daily reporting and breakfast setup What skill you need: Checking guests in and out Are hardworking and enthusiastic Responding to guest queries via e-mail, telephone or in-person Processing payments Offer guests great customer service Night auditing Ensuring the hotel and its guests are secure through the night Efficient transfer of information to staff members on the morning shift Who we are looking for: Fluent spoken/written English (other languages are a bonus) Competent level of IT proficiency Ability to work on your own and as part of a team Friendly but professional work ethic Flexible availability Able to take initiative and remain calm under pressure Organised, helpful and friendly individual Previous experience in a similar role within a hostel, solo customer-facing roles, or a hospitality background is highly preferred.
