We are working with a global manufacturing giant in the heavy construction equipment world who are currently looking for a Country Manager to lead their operations in France. Role: Country Manager France (Construction Equipment Manufacturing) Location: Paris, France Salary: €96,000 + bonuses + benefits As Country Manager, you will be responsible for the France business sales and channel management plan and implementation. Develop and manage an independent dealer distribution network to facilitate and maximize the share and sales of products for the company. Manage the key account clients and drive customer satisfaction via the support of the business functions. Responsibilities: Develop the sales, promotion, and distribution plan for our client in France. • Establish & implement a territory-specific action with the accomplishment of objectives (the business plan) and define the commercial / sales process., • Investment plan: Establish a local commercial hub to support channel management & growth objectives., • Develop the local organization for sales, aftersales, product support, and marketing., • Develop, and manage the sales channels to provide effective market coverage (sales & aftersales support)., • Manage and expand 3rd party financing for wholesale / retail & implement effective risk management. Operational responsibilities • Propose annual operating plan (budget) and midterm regional growth plan., • Responsible for P&L, Inventory & AR management., • Assess market potential and identify opportunities for new business and increased penetration., • Achieve sales goals for targeted product lines (Own and manage monthly sales forecast process)., • Lead & manage the local team & provide strategic advice, counsel, and support., • Work cross-functionally with Sales Leadership in related businesses, Marketing, Pats, and Service. Team Management • Recruitment and Staffing: Responsible for hiring the right talent, ensuring that the team members align with the company’s goals and culture., • Team Structure and Organization: Designing the organizational structure that fits the Italian market’s needs, including the delegation of responsibilities among sales, marketing, operations, finance, and HR functions., • Resource Allocation: Ensuring that the team has the resources—whether financial, technological, or operational—required to meet their objectives., • Performance Monitoring: Overseeing the performance of individuals and teams, setting KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), and conducting regular reviews to track progress., • Training and Development: Providing necessary training and development opportunities to the team members to enhance their skills and improve productivity., • Compliance and Regulations: Ensuring that the team operates in alignment with local laws, regulations, and industry standards., • Decision-Making: Making critical business decisions, especially when it comes to local market adaptations, pricing strategies, or business expansion plans, while ensuring alignment with the company’s global strategy., • Communication and Coordination: Acting as a liaison between the local team and the company’s headquarters, ensuring clear communication, collaboration, and alignment of objectives., • Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution: Addressing internal conflicts and removing obstacles that hinder the team’s performance. This also includes finding solutions to market-specific challenges., • Adaptability and Innovation: Encouraging the team to innovate and adapt to local market conditions, stay ahead of competitors, and continuously improve the company’s position in the market. Requirement • Fluent in English and French, • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business or related field, • Above 10 years related working experience in construction equipment or heavy machinery industry and at least 3 years team management experience, • Strong commercial acumen and customer-first mindset., • Travel as required within the territory.
