Job DescriptionDescription: ASN Constructors is a joint venture of three international contractors (Acciona, Shikun & Binui and North American Construction Group) who work with the Metro Flood Diversion Authority and other area stakeholders to build a historic project that will protect the citizens of the Fargo-Moorhead area from flood waters from the Red River. The Swing Shift Field Engineer will assist the Superintendent, engineering staff, and Project Manager in managing all aspects of a construction project including the field operations and project administration. This position is predominately based in the field, and may require working the swing shift from 3pm-1am as needed. Responsibilities: • Assists with pre-construction activities as needed: construction planning and design; interpretation of design and drawings, • Has a clear understand specifications, drawings, standards, and subcontractor & supplier scope of work, etc., • Demonstrates, communicates, and reinforces the all Company safety policies and procedures., • Interprets specifications, designs and drawings and prepares quantity takeoffs, • Prepares drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, estimates, etc., • Verifies work-in-place quantities for invoicing/pay quantities;, • Maintains submittal logs and timely receipt and review of submittals and shop drawings, • Ensures craft time cards are completed accurately, reflecting hours worked and tasks worked on; verifies cost codes to all purchases, time cards, contracts, equipment time and any other item involving cost, • Maintains as-built drawings; posts RFI, bulletin and ASI as appropriate, • Maintains RFI logs, • Participates in constructability reviews and value engineering functions, • Develops, implements and administers project engineering procedures and other work documents; tracks and logs documentation, • Takes weekly jobsite photographs, • Works with the Safety Department to insure that project safety records are accurately maintained, • Assists in quality control activities, • Assists in preparing project status reports and participates in project status meetings; assists in development of meeting minutes, • Assists in project close-out activities, • May support estimates as needed, • Performs additional assignments per supervisor’s direction Requirements: Experience/Qualifications: • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar, • 3 years of experience preferred, • 4 year engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience, • 0 – 2 years of field construction experience, • E.I.T. preferred but not required, • Ability to read and interpret plans, • Excellent computer skills, • Microsoft products required, • CAD experience, especially AutoCAD, preferred, • Document control management software such as Procore or Fieldwire preferred, • Basic understanding of cost analysis, • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, • Ability to relocate to Fargo, • Able to lift, stand, walk, use hands, carry, etc. Work Environment: • This position is both outdoors and indoors, • This work environment may involve minimal to moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises, • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, • Noise levels in the outdoor work environment is usually loud, • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions, • Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, • Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards, • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand, • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% or more of the time, • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand, • Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain ASN Constructors has a Drug Free Workplace Policy.
