Overview The Certified Electrician 2 will provide electrical expertise to lead the installation of residential solar systems and batteries to ensure conformance to existing national and local building codes. The Certified Electrician 2 also performs and trains others on a variety of electrical work including main panel upgrades, electrical troubleshooting and service work. This position will also work with the PV installation crew, filling in and performing other duties when necessary, including leading the crew in the absence of the Foreman. The Certified Electrician 2 is required to possess and maintain a valid Journeyman License/Electrician Certification or equivalent per local and state requirements. Responsibilities * Lead the installation of electrical systems that interconnect our solar array to the grid power of our customer’s residential property * Ensure work performed by all electricians is of good workmanship and compliant with current NEC and local codes * Complete solar battery installations as assigned * Troubleshoot system problems and resolve electrical issues * Safely plan and complete main panel upgrades (MPU) * Work with branch team and home owners to fulfill any necessary system upgrades/repairs to support our solar equipment * Mentor others to enhance their overall electrical skills * Train on Sunrun established best practices as well as prepare team members for future positions at Sunrun * Work cross-functionally with license holders, AHJ inspectors, and crew members to serve as a subject matter expert on electrical work * Solve for recurring quality issues and failed inspections to increase the installation pass rate * Electrical Coaching and Leadership: Facilitates advancement of electrical skills and knowledge in others by providing clear, specific performance feedback, and by making suggestions for improvement in a manner that builds confidence and maintains self-esteem * Safety: Adheres to company safety policies and procedures including ability to identify and report safety hazards, and the ability to encourage others to work safely * Takes ownership of issues or questions and will escalate problems to the appropriate persons and follow up accordingly with the customer * Additional duties assigned as needed * 100% travel required Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent * Minimum of 1 year solar electrical installation and repair experience required * Experience with electrical work involving wiring up to 1000 VDC and 480 VAC * Working knowledge and experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels required * Ability to proficiently perform the job duties of a Certified Electrician 1 * Must possess a valid Journeyman License/Electrician Certification or equivalent per local and state requirements, e.g. wireman license * Must maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check * Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license * Certified to use equipment i.e. forklift, scissor lift, snorkel lift, skid steer etc. * Osha 10 or Osha 30 * Electrical/PV Installation Knowledge and working knowledge of current NEC codes * Ability to interpret single line drawings and PV systems from roof to meter * Demonstrates knowledge of electrical principles as it pertains to solar interconnection/tie-in and code and how PV systems operate * Understands interconnection activities * Understands basic construction principles * Customer Service: Ability to establish rapport, build relationships and loyalty with external and internal customers and coworkers, and remains tactful when communicating * Results Driven: Proven ability to meet deadlines and key metrics * Works independently, as a team player, and drives results in a fast paced, team based environment * Must be willing to assist teammates and build strong relationships to achieve company and department goals * Problem Solving: Solid logical decision making and troubleshooting skills with the ability to problem solve in a timely and effective manner * Exercises good judgment * Knows when to involve supervisors * Ability to transport materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks (up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance) * Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces which requires frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balance * Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces which requires kneeling and crouching * Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to: excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environment, and humidity * Ability to frequently utilize hand functions requiring fine motor skills including but not limited to: fine manipulation, grasping, and pinching * Ability to work within the safe range of equipment such as ladders, fall protection harnesses and other personal protective equipment * Ability to work while wearing heavy protective equipment such as arc flash suits, gloves, and face shields * Ability to work and maintain balance on roofs and other areas of height * Ability to work in the sun and possibly low light conditions * Ability to walk on rafters, roof tiles, and roof shingles without damage * Ability to distinguish colors such as red, black, yellow, white, green * Ability to hear verbal commands and warnings * Ability to work with chemicals using appropriate protection Recruiter: Reva Tambo () Please note that the compensation information is made in good faith for this position only. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Personnel Management • Use consistent techniques & company directives to screen, hire, train, coach, and develop on-site staff, • Ensure effectiveness of staff through ongoing training, coaching, counseling, and guidance in compliance with Asset training benchmarks, • Deal effectively and consistently with performance problems; document adequately, communicate with direct supervisor and HR and terminate appropriately when necessary, • Prepare request for a salary increase for Community Manager and assist with other team members if necessary; sign off on all requests from the site, • Ensure all counseling statements, written evaluations, and salary requests are provided for review to the Regional & Senior Vice President and delivered to the Human Resource department, • Approve all timesheets and ensure hours indicated are correct, vacation and sick time reported, and signatures available, • Deal effectively and consistently with performance problems; document adequately, communicate with Regional & Senior Vice President and HR and terminate appropriately when necessary, • Promote harmony and quality job performance of staff through support and effective leadership, • Achieve the highest possible net operating income through the implementation of effective cost control and revenue & leasing improvement; identify trends and recommend strategies and adjustments, • Develop yearly operating budgets/forecasts, • Provide monthly written evaluation of income and expense line items that are significantly over budget, • Provide Capital improvement suggestions for the future of the site, • Monitor all proposals and contracts for large projects at sites and check work in progress, • Monitor & maintain the timely receipt and reconciliation of deposits, rent collections, and charges to ensure submitted on a timely basis, • Monitor & approve the timely receipt, reconciliation, and coding of all vendor invoices, • Develop yearly marketing plan and utilize marketing strategies & systems, • Provide marketing strategy to generate rentals or for rent increases, • Ensure staff leasing techniques are effective in obtaining closure, follow up procedures met, signing/documentation of leases, and reporting systems are accurate and up to date, • Deal with resident complaints, concerns, and requests to ensure resident satisfaction, • Develop and implement resident retention programs (i.e., resident functions, special promotions, monthly newsletter, etc.), • Ensure all administrative & leasing reporting is accurate, complete, and submitted on a timely basis, • Assist with the emergency team for the property; ensures proper response and handling of all property emergencies with staff, residents, buildings, etc. within company guidelines to minimize liability, • Manage excellent customer service and monitor service request turnaround and responsiveness of maintenance staff, • Maintain property appearance and ensure repairs are noted and completed on a timely basis (this requires regular property inspections and tours), • Plan for and utilize property resources, equipment and supplies economically (i.e., obtaining bids/pricing from vendors, suppliers, and contractors, dealing with inadequate service, etc.), • Affordable housing experience which includes LIHTC, • Prior experience as a Regional Manager, • High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred or four years experience in the housing industry; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, • Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) or Accredited Resident Manager (ARM) preferred, • Ability to understand and perform all on-site software functions; basic computer skills required For individuals hired to work in California, Asset Living is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of California and includes the range of factors considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; etc. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would be near the top end of the compensation range, but that decision will be dependent on the facts associated with each specific individual's relevant experience for the role.
